EcoClub Hostel
If you're adventurous and have environmental concerns, the EcoClub in Becharre is an excellent choice. With its modest rooms that are more about harmony with nature than luxury, the hostel is run by a non-profit organization that works to improve the ecology in North Lebanon.
There are many natural attractions nearby such as the highest mountain peak in the country, historical sites, the Cedars and Qadisha Valley, which is designated as a World Patrimonial Site by UNESCO. Not far lies the Jibran Khalil Jibran Museum which is worth a visit.
The EcoClub is also keen on sports activities such as biking, rafting, archery, cross-country skiing, rappelling and rock climbing. The club is affiliated with a summer camp for kids, as well as several handicrafts exhibitions and local festivals.
Indoor Activities: TV - DVD - Manual work for kids - Organic exhibitions (honey, herbs, handicrafts) - Social games (Uno, Scrabble...)
Outdoor Activities: Cultural visits, Archeological sites - Summer camp for kids - Arts and handicrafts exhibitions - Observation of fauna - Village and International festivals - Study of flora - Sports Activities (volleyball, basketball, biking, archery, rafting, "ski de fond", rappelling, mountain and rock climbing).
