Old world charm exudes from this modest hotel that saw many good years in the 60s and 70s. The major wing of the hotel has been recently renovated, making it a very decent choice at a relatively attractive price for those who want to be in the popular Hamra neighborhood. The airport is 10-15 minutes away, while Downtown Beirut is 5-10 minutes away. The seaside and various cultural venues are very close.

The renovated rooms are attractive and clean, with modern bathrooms, comfortable bedding and expected amenities such as cable TV, wireless internet, mini bar and more, all while keeping the original feel of the property. There are also three newly renovated suites that boast their very own garden terrace. Interestingly, the suites are named after famous guests who have stayed in them.

The Mayflower is known for its cozy English Pub, The Duke of Wellington, with wood paneling and a majestic fireplace. In recent years, a large plasma TV has been added to watch sports events and foster a more casual atmosphere.
There’s also the rooftop restaurant/pub, Moon on the Rocks, which has a good view of Beirut’s skyline. The comfortable terrace offers a relaxing experience for a light lunch, afternoon tea, or evening cocktails.
A breakfast buffet is available at Louly’s in the lowest level of the hotel, with some talented chefs working behind the scenes to serve delicious lunches as well.

+ Staff was well trained, friendly and very attentive. Breakfast was of good quality and variation. Room cleaning was excellent! General service was good.

- Internet was slow and connection some times fell away. There could be better deals with taxid rivers for clients of hotel. There are not enough electricity let outs in the room as all of them are taken by TV. (otherwise services would be 9)

+ It's neat, clean and cosy.

- The rooms are very small and there was too much noise outside the room keeping us from having a comfort sleep at night. The AC sounded like it was 10yrs old with all the weird sounds it was making. A much bigger problem, there was no parking as mentioned on the site, we had to go around Hamra several times to find a place to park.
