This is one of the most notable resorts in Kaslik, just half an hour away from Beirut and the airport. The Portemilio Hotel & Resort is spread over an area of 50,000m2, with landscaped gardens and several low-lying hotel buildings. Minutes away from the Casino and Jeita Grotto, the property is also within easy driving distance (about half an hour) to the historical city of Byblos, as well as to the Faraya ski resort. There are also many cinemas, restaurants, clubs and pubs in the area, as well as a horseback riding club.
The Portemilio boasts 180 guestrooms, including suites with kitchenettes, in addition to an Executive Floor and accompanying lounge that serves a healthy breakfast. It also carries newspapers and offers secretarial services. The Executive Suites are high on technology, with a sound system and DVD player, while bathrooms feature a Jacuzzi. Guests who book in suites also have free access to the health center.
Conceived by noted designer Khuan Chew, the Portemilio concept reflects an oriental touch for a unique feel in the country, while the rooms themselves look out onto sea or mountain.
The Portemilio is one of the few hotels to promote local and organic ingredients by growing its own fruit and vegetable gardens. Add to that traditional jams and honey, as well as country-style dairy products. This gives a hearty and healthy edge to its cuisine, such as at La Reserve restaurant or the Barsserie L’incontro. The Piano Bar is always there to brighten the mood and create a convivial ambiance.
There are many activities on the premises, such as the heated indoor swimming pool and the Olympic-sized outdoor pool. A fitness center is also available for the health conscious, so are tennis courts, a basketball court and more. Relax in the sauna after a heavy sports game.
