The city of Sidon has a charming, traditional side to it, and Dar Yacoub Hotel is the best way to discover the city. Located right in the center of the old souk’s alleyways, the hotel is right between Sidon’s Phoenician sea castle and the Castle of Saint-Louis. The property was built in the 1920s, following traditional Sidonian architecture which borrows from Ottoman and Levantine architecture. Other attractions like Khan el Franj, Al Omari Mosque, and the Audi Soap Museum are also within walking distance.

There are only six rooms in the hotel, each designed following a different color  scheme that gives a specific identity to each room. The rooms are generally rustic with stone walls that characterize the buildings of that era, yet they still maintain clean and modern furnishing. Facilities such as television, telephone, and private bathrooms are, of course, a part of such a cozy hotel. Dar Yacoub also has a charming café which is open for breakfast, drinks, and teatime.
