Beirut City

Beirut, The Lady Of The World. The City That Wouldn't Die. The Historic Phoenician Port. The Ancient City Of The Future. Beirut, with its many incarnations, remains the most fascinating city of the Middle East and beyond. Sitting on a promontory that juts outs into the Mediterranean Sea, Beirut literally lies at the crossroads of three continents. In times of peace, the city benefited from trade and dynamic cultural exchanges. In times of war, Beirut's location placed it at the forefront of major battles, as invading armies swept upon its shores. But somehow, Beirut survived all conflicts waged within its boundaries, emerging stronger with each passing era.
Many times destroyed and rebuilt, Beirut is a city of many features, all accented by a charming mix of East and West. Full of life, crammed, elegant and pretentious, it shows a different aspect at every turn. Explore it by foot to get a real taste of the atmosphere. With its scenic waterfront on the Mediterranean sea, archeological treasures, landscaped gardens, cobbled pedestrian streets, numerous restaurants, cafes, and a variety of leisure activities, Beirut’s new city center, also known as the downtown, Solidere or the Beirut Central District, is where it’s happening.
Sursock/Gemmayzeh area: This is the best place to discover and appreciate Lebanon’s architectural heritage. It gives you a sense of Beirut’s illustrious past as well as the traditional patriarchal system, the influence of which extended as far as its architectural spirit.
Our tour will take you though major axes of the capital and will drive you along the coastal with a stop at the Rawcheh Sea Rocks.
