| Enfeh churches
Saydet El-Rih or Our Lady of the Wind, built in the Byzantine era, is now in ruin and open to the sky. Nonetheless this little chapel retains traces of wall paintings representing Saint George and Saint Demetrios on horseback, the Omnipotent Christ, two evangelists, some saints and the Virgin calming the tempest.
The Church of Saint Catherine, which dates from the time of the Crusades, is partially restored and still used by the Greek Orthodox community. In the old quarters of this same area is a church with a double altar, dedicated to Saint Simon’s part of the church and is interesting for its ceiling that incorporates jars in its masonry to absorb echoes and improve acoustics.
